The TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE
was created in 2020 as part of Stewards & Trustees. Its purpose is to oversee and manage all technical aspects of computing, software, audio, video, websites, broadcasting and other electronic systems within Hillcrest United Church. Members are: the Chair Person who is also a member of Steward & Trustees (currently Edgar Dewar), Secretary, Administrator, and Deputy Administrators (maximum 3). Although the original intention was to provide equipment to improve broadcasting Hillcrest’s Sunday services, it soon became apparent that the church’s computers were inadequate. Therefore, with some church funds already available, the committee first replaced and interconnected the church’s three computers and guided the church’s staff in safely maintaining records on the Cloud. Extensive investigations are now underway to upgrade our temporary broadcasting system, a job very important to our congregation especially in this time of Covid restrictions, and to transform Hillcrest’s website as soon as possible.
