UNITED CHURCH WOMEN:
The national group, an officially-designated organization for women in the United Church of Canada, was formed in 1962 as a successor to the Women’s Missionary Society (WMS). Hillcrest UCW members have raised remarkable amounts of money through bake sales, church suppers and other creative fund-raisers for the Mission and Service Fund, local charities, and needs within Hillcrest church. We have representation on the pastoral charge executive and on the manse committee. We meet on the second Tuesday each month except in the summer. Our meetings generally include a worship period, necessary business, a program feature and a social time. Our current co-chairs are Anne White and Mary Martin.
